Good quality early childhood care and education is critical in deciding the child’s life outcomes. It has a profound effect on the health, educational outcomes, prospects of livelihood and income in the later stages of life. Early childhood care and education is provided by both Government and private channels in India. With the burgeoning population of India and 23 percent of the current population under 10 years of age, a large number of private actors are playing an important role in supporting this initiative through their innovative and impactful ECCE programs.
