Pooja Kumari have joined Aspirational District Fellowship in Ramgarh district, Jharkhand under the Prime minister's flagship "Transforming Aspirational district Programme" with a vision to transform New India by 2022.
She has completed her Integrated Post Graduation in Engineering in the energy discipline from Central University of Jharkhand. Prior to fellowship, Pooja have a work experience of three years and have worked with Center for Science and Environment (CSE), the Centre for Environment and Energy Development and the GSES India.
During her stint with these organisations, she worked on various projects mostly related to the development sector.
Despite having a strong engineering background, I always wanted to build my career in the development sector and to work in areas where my academics could be of some benefit to states like Jharkhand. Being born and brought up in Jharkhand, I have a first hand experience of the adversities existing in our society. This helped me develop a sense of belongingness towards people belonging to the lower socio-economic stratum.
