Deepti Gulati has a rich 40 years of work experience in nutrition and public health. She is the Head of Programs, GAIN India. In this role, Deepti leads GAIN India’s key programmes: "Large-scale Food Fortification", on ‘Infant and Young Child Nutrition’, and "Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition" (CMAM).
Her areas of specialization include: Nutrition, Food Security, Public Health, Strengthening Policy Framework; Capacity Building etc. As a member of various professional bodies, several national and state-level committees; and with her domain expertise, she has promoted evidence-based innovative strategies that have positively impacted nutrition programming in India.
At the behest of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which is Government of India's Food Regulatory Body, Deepti Gulati provides guidance, technical assistance and support to the Food Fortification Resource Centre of FSSAI for leading its staple food fortification agenda across the Indian States. In addition, she provides technical support to various State Governments in India on staple food fortification and other nutrition and public health interventions.
